Twelve years ago a young girl approached her father and asked for his help. She asked to have the same opportunities as other people her age and to learn what it was to work, to feel a sense of achievement, earn an income, meet friends and have a sense of purpose. But this young girl was exceptional and had special needs, so to give her everything she wanted would take more than a push in the right direction, more than encouraging words and more than a few phone calls. In fact it was so difficult to find the support for her that the only way to make her wish come true was to go out and build it.
So in October 1998 Supported Community Business was established to help support individuals with special needs achieve everything the young girl wanted to, and is still to this day helping others achieve their goals and develop their potential.
